Seasonal Tour 2008

For the world, Mexico is already an interesting place to visit. But from the flying community little is known besides Baja and Valle, and after the PWC, Tapalpa. But Mexico is much more. This tour is a combination of excellent flying areas and site seeing. We visit 2 or 3 main areas in the south of Mexico. The Orizaba area, is just 3 hours from Mexico City's airport. Below 3,000 feet AMSL, the tropical vegetation is amazing and the conditions of the "Fortin" take off can't be better. Ideal for soaring and XC, depending on the time of the day, and the view of the Orizaba Peak with 16,800 ft is fantastic. Begginers can take advantage of the easy conditions of "Tecamalucan" and before the sunsets, the magic lift of "La Jarochita" will keep you flying for hours.

On the second stage of the tour, we drive 3 more hours to get to the city of Oaxaca. Where mistery, culture and traditions blend in a magical valley at 4500 ft, surronded by "Sierras" up to 10,000 ft. "Zaachila" the official take off, is an interesting challenge for those beginning on XC. Thermals are easy to find, but hard to follow. XC is possible almost on any direction, but you better get cloudbase before going anywhere. If you fail, go back to take off and try again, it's never too late. If it's your lucky day, you may fly the 12 miles needed to get to Monte Alban, an impresive archaelogical site next to the city.

Evenings at the city of Oaxaca are bright and colourfull. For partners and children there are plenty of things to do such as, Ecotourism, Spanish Schools, Crafts tours, Ruins, Temples and many more.

10 Day Tour ($1800 US)

It is a combination of the 7 Day Tour plus either, 3 days at: Valle de Bravo or Iguala or Puebla or the Pacific Coast. All places with great flying and atmosphere.

The tour includes: Transportation in Vans, Accomodation in 4 star hotels (7 or 10 Nights ), Breakfasts, Snacks, Guides and T-Shirt.
